Are you seeking a sense of spaciousness without wasted space?
And how do you want to live?
Do you move through a winter’s day looking for splashes of sunshine? Search out a sheltered corner to read the newspaper on a Sunday morning? Do you imagine your home as a pocket full of life - a garden where children can play hide and seek, inside and outside fusing together? Do you like to sit under a verandah and watch a summer thunderstorm move across the sky?
Crafting Homes That Enhance Daily Life -
For over 30 years I’ve been working in interior design and architecture. About 14 years ago I decided to focus on home design, making a difference in the lives of every-day families and individuals.
My interest is in creating spaces that elevate your everyday experience. Through thoughtful design that responds to both your needs and the natural environment, I help transform houses into homes that truly support how you want to live.
I still collaborate with larger architectural practices, always learning from others while mentoring young up-and-coming designers. This collaborative approach keeps my work fresh and connected to the broader design community.
From Tiny Homes to Family Residences -
I enjoy the challenge of small spaces, detailed design and custom joinery. Recently I’ve taken small spaces to an extreme, designing a Tiny Home on wheels. (More on this soon.) If you have Tiny Home aspirations - you’ve come to the right place.
Through maintaining the existing where possible, using resources with care, creating things that will last, and designing for passive thermal comfort, I aim to contribute in a positive way to our precarious world.
Indoor-Outdoor Connection Specialist -
I work across the full spectrum of building design. My vision is holistic; I'd love to include your garden as an extension of your living space, creating seamless connections between indoors and outdoors that expand your sense of home.
Where Design Meets Fine Art -
When I'm not in the studio designing, I'm often there painting. As an artist and designer, each practice informs and enhances the other - it's all about careful observation of both the physical elements and the feeling of a place. If I'm not in the studio, you might find me in remote, wild places, painting there too. Nature and particularly wild landscapes are the inspiration and fuel for all my creative endeavors.
As both designer and artist, I offer unique insight into selecting and placing artwork that enhances your home. For clients interested in original artwork, I can create commissioned paintings specifically for your space.

Bachelor of Design - University of South Australia 1993 - Interior Design
I grew up in a family of Boat Builders which instilled in me an appreciation for craftsmanship and understanding how things are made. This practical foundation influences my approach to design. I create everything from the inside out, determining spaces for people to use first, creating experiences that feel right.
I trained initially in Interior Architecture but gradually shifted towards the full range of architecture as I cut my teeth in the architectural establishments of Bates Smart Architects (Melbourne) and Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects (New York City). Later, I became Associate Director at H2o Architects Melbourne, before establishing my own independent Studio.
Today, my work is primarily at the domestic scale - designing new homes or transforming existing ones - working with gardens also. I collaborate with a Registered Draftsperson to produce CAD documentation, while I lead all design development, hand sketching, joinery detailing, and client and consultant coordination.
